1883-O Morgan Silver Dollar

Coined over 120 years ago at the New Orleans Mint, the 1883-O Morgan silver dollar is a precious memento of an interesting chapter in coinage history. The New Orleans Mint produced U.S. coins from 1838 until 1861, when it was taken over first by the state of Louisiana and then by the Confederacy. This southern mint struck U.S. coins again from 1879 to 1909, producing classic Morgan silver dollars like the 1883-O.
